Book a Dealer / Host Booking Terms

Draft for attorney review

Host Booking Terms

For hosts who book a dealer for a private, play-money night through Learn the Table.

Between Taste Nights LLC, doing business as Learn the Table, 2222 W Grand River Ave, Ste A, Okemos, MI 48864 ("we," "us"), and the host who accepts them at checkout ("you"). Version 1, October 2026.

  • 1. What you're booking

We connect you with an independent dealer for a private, play-money event in Michigan. Your booking page lists the date, start and end time, city, games, tables and your all-in price. The dealer runs the game, deals and keeps the table moving. Unless your booking says otherwise, you provide the table space, chairs, food and drinks.

  • 2. Play money only

You promise that nothing at your event will be gambling for value. That means:

    • No buy-ins, entry fees or chip sales tied to play.
    • Chips have no cash value and can't be traded for cash, prizes, drinks, raffle entries or anything else.
    • No prizes for results, including prizes "donated" or bought with chips.
    • No rake, no side bets, no cash games.
  • 3. Real-money charity events are not covered

We don't book dealers for real-money charity casino nights ("millionaire parties"). Michigan has its own rules for who may deal those.

  • 4. If gambling for value happens

If the dealer or we see gambling for value, the dealer will ask that it stop. If it doesn't stop, the dealer may end the event and leave. In that case you get no refund, and the dealer is paid in full.

  • 5. Price

The price you see is all-in: the dealer's rate plus our booking fee of 15%, shown as one total before you pay. There are no other charges unless you agree to them in writing, for example extra hours on the night. The dealer sets their own rate.

  • 6. How payment works

    • You pay the full all-in price at checkout through Stripe. Your booking is confirmed when payment clears.
    • We accept payment for the dealer's rate on the dealer's behalf. When we receive it, the dealer counts as paid by you.
    • We hold it until 48 hours after the event, then pay the dealer.
    • Our booking fee is ours and pays for matching, payment handling and support.
    • Pay by the time shown on your booking page. If you don't, the night is released and the dealer is free to take other work.
  • 6a. Messages stay in the app

Until your booking is paid, all contact with the dealer goes through Learn the Table messages. Contact details and addresses are shared after payment, for that booking only. Arranging the booking outside the app to avoid the fee is not allowed.

  • 7. If you cancel

    • Cancel on your booking page, or email hello@learnthetable.com. The time we receive it is the time that counts.
    • 7 or more days before the start time: full refund.
    • Between 48 hours and 7 days before: 50% refund.
    • Less than 48 hours before: no refund.
    • Changing to a new date counts as canceling and rebooking, unless the dealer agrees to the change.
    • Withdrawing a request before you pay costs nothing.
  • 8. If we cancel or the dealer doesn't show

If we cancel, or the dealer cancels or doesn't arrive within 30 minutes of the start time, you get a full refund. Tychon also asks other dealers nearby to cover the night. If one says yes, you choose whether to book them.

  • 9. Refund timing

We start any refund within 3 business days, to the card you paid with. Your bank may take 5 to 10 days to show it.

  • 10. Problems on the night

Report a problem on your booking page within 48 hours after the event ends, with what happened. Only the amount you dispute is held. We hear from the dealer and decide within 5 business days. Our decision is final for refunds under these terms. This doesn't take away any right you have under law.

  • 11. No side deals

We spend time and money finding and screening dealers. If we introduce you to a dealer, then for 12 months after the introduction date:

    • You book that dealer through us for any private event; or
    • If you book that dealer outside Learn the Table, you pay us a one-time introduction fee of $250.
    • This doesn't apply if you can show you knew the dealer before our introduction. It only covers dealers we introduced to you, and it never stops you from using any other dealer or company.
    • The introduction date is the date your booking is paid, when we share the dealer's contact details with you. Your booking page shows it.
  • 12. Alcohol, venue and safety

    • You're responsible for the venue and its safety, for any alcohol service, and for following the law and the venue's rules on alcohol and age.
    • Guests at the table must be at least 18, or older if the venue requires.
    • The dealer doesn't serve alcohol and won't drink while working.
    • The dealer may stop and leave if they reasonably feel unsafe, are harassed, or if rule 2 is broken. If the dealer leaves for a safety reason caused by you or your guests, there's no refund.
    • Treat the dealer with respect.
  • 13. Tips

Tips are optional. Any tip guests give goes 100% to the dealer.

  • 14. The dealer is independent

The dealer is an independent contractor, not our employee or agent, except for collecting payment as described in rule 6. The dealer decides how to run their table, within these terms.

  • 15. Recording

Don't stream or post video of the dealer without the dealer's OK. We don't film private events.

  • 16. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking. We aren't liable for indirect or lost-profit damages. This doesn't limit liability for our own gross negligence or intentional misconduct, or anything else the law doesn't let us limit.

  • 17. Personal information

After you pay, we share your name, email, the event address and, if you add it, your phone with the dealer, for your booking only. See our Privacy Policy.

  • 18. Changes and the whole agreement

These terms, your booking page and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement for your booking. We may update these terms for future bookings. The version you accepted applies to your booking.

  • 19. Michigan law

Michigan law governs these terms. Any lawsuit goes to the state or federal courts for Ingham County, Michigan, unless the law says otherwise.

  • 20. How you accept

You accept these terms by ticking the three boxes and paying at checkout. Your electronic acceptance has the same effect as a signature. We record the version and the time you accepted.

The three boxes

  • I've read and accept the Host Booking Terms.
  • My night is play money only: no buy-ins, no prizes for chips or results, no side bets.
  • I agree to the limit of liability in rule 16.

None are ticked for you. You tick them on your booking page, before you pay.
